Blue Earth Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
August, 2009
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the City of Blue Earth was awarded dollars for an upgrade to their wastewater treatment system. The upgrade includes two new sludge storage tanks with associated piping, along with new pumps for the grinders as well as upgrade to the treatment building.
Dulas Excavating was awarded the site work of the expansion and upgrades, which included a 20-foot deep engineered cut in the blue clay that Blue Earth originally was named for. The material was moved off site and granular backhauled to finish the site once the concrete is poured.
The project will continue through the winter of 2009 and will finish in the spring of 2010.
