Former LCWM High School Demolition and Crystal Seasons Housing Project
September, 2007
After a year of negotiating, Dulas began demolition on the former Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial High School so the new Lake Crystal Senior Housing facility could be built. As one of their largest projects to date, 400 truckloads of demolition debris, 200 truckloads of concrete, and over 400 tons of steel were removed. More than 55% of the debris material was recycled.
The timeline for this project was extremely tight. Dulas was asked to begin the project in early October and complete their work by the end of December, so that construction of the new facility could begin immediately after Christmas. The demolition team worked quickly, completing the demolition two weeks ahead of schedule. By the first week of December, new construction had begun.
Following the demolition, Dulas began excavating the site for the drive-under garage and started digging the footings. Despite harsh winter conditions the entire project was completed, from demolition to new construction, in just ten months.
